Picasso, Pablo

Possibly, the most influential artist of the last 150 years. Born in Malaga in 1881, no other artist has contributed to the visual culture of the last century more than Pablo Picasso. A boundaryless creator, with an apparently infinite imagination, he has mastered almost every genre of visual art, revealing his immense talent in painting, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design and ceramic. Although less known, his talent as playwright, photographer, poet and designer of sets and costumes for theatre has been second to none. No corner of the vast territory of the visual arts has escaped the irreversible impact of his contribution, from the avant-garde that he epitomized like no else, to the various movements that developed after and around him. So much Pablo Picasso mastered his own art, that his frequent switches and moves between styles, media and genres suggest the activity of several apical artists more than a single eclectic and overly gifted genius. His works are kept in several of the most prestigious collections and Museums.
